The Vietnam ETF market (thị trường ETF) closed the 19/10/2026 session in a clearly defensive posture. The VN-INDEX finished at 1,689.84 points (-0.94%), closing on its session low after an intraday high of 1,721.39, while the VN30-INDEX closed at 1,839.18 points (-0.87%). Across the 24 ETFs listed on HOSE, breadth was lopsided: 2 funds advanced, 13 declined and 9 closed unchanged, on total turnover of 26.62 billion VND and aggregate AUM of 22.63 trillion VND. Foreign investors were net sellers of 7.35 billion VND across the whole market (buying 5.99 billion VND, selling 13.33 billion VND).

Key takeaways

  • E1VFVN30 was the weakest large-cap print: closing price 32,800 VND (-1.94%), below its 33,161 VND VWAP, with 511,400 units traded, a foreign net outflow of -4.94 billion VND and AUM of 5,642 billion VND.
  • FUEVFVND remained the largest fund by size: closing price 32,270 VND (-1.01%), VWAP 32,392 VND, volume 193,300 units, foreign net -2.29 billion VND and AUM of 10,430 billion VND.
  • Only two funds closed green: FUESSV50 +0.90% to 27,950 VND and FUEMAVND +0.44% to 13,750 VND, while quỹ E1VFVN30 and FUEVFVND alone absorbed -7.23 billion VND of the market-wide -7.35 billion VND foreign net outflow.

Thị trường ETF: breadth skews one-way on HOSE

The 13 decliners versus 2 advancers is the clearest signal from the session. The index-level drawdown was orderly rather than disorderly — VN-INDEX lost less than 1% — but pricing across the thị trường ETF was skewed to the sell side, and nine funds closed exactly at reference, which typically signals thin two-way interest rather than genuine balance. Full context on how these products work is available in our thị trường ETF hub.

The two funds that finished green

FUESSV50 (SSIAM VNX50 ETF) was the standout, closing at 27,950 VND (+0.90%) and — unusually — above its 27,667 VND VWAP, a +1.02% premium to the session average, on 8,800 units. Its AUM is 196 billion VND and foreign flow was marginally negative at -0.14 billion VND. FUEMAVND added 0.44% to 13,750 VND, but note the quality of that print: it traded below its 13,817 VND VWAP (-0.48% versus average) on just 2,300 units, so the gain reflects a narrow, illiquid tape rather than broad demand.
