Price Action at the Close: Mostly Flat

On the final session before the holiday break, five of the six domestically listed funds closed with no change: VFMVN30 ETF at 35,670 VND, DCVFMVN Diamond at 34,980 VND, SSIAM VNX50 at 29,300 VND and SSIAM VN FINLEAD at 29,600 VND all recorded +0.00%. The only domestic gainer was SSIAM VN30 ETF, up +0.52% to 25,080 VND.

An Outlier Worth Reading Carefully: FUEKIVFS

The KIM Growth VN30 ETF showed a +6.95% one-day change to 17,390 VND. However, its reported volume was 0K units, meaning the move was not supported by measurable secondary-market trading. A quote-level change with near-zero turnover should not be interpreted as broad investor demand.

Momentum Across Timeframes: A Positive Week, Financials Lead the Month

Every fund in this recap finished the trading week higher. SSIAM VN FINLEAD ETF led with +2.49%, followed by DCVFMVN Diamond at +2.28% and VFMVN30 at +2.09%. The US-listed VanEck Vietnam ETF added +1.17%, while SSIAM VNX50 gained +1.35% and SSIAM VN30 rose +1.13%.

The one-month picture is similarly positive. SSIAM VN FINLEAD was the standout at +5.98%, ahead of DCVFMVN Diamond (+4.45%), VFMVN30 (+3.69%) and SSIAM VN30 (+3.64%). VanEck Vietnam ETF climbed +3.49% in USD terms, while SSIAM VNX50 (+1.03%) and KIM Growth VN30 (+0.29%) lagged the group.

Financial Select Funds in the Driver's Seat

The SSIAM VN FINLEAD ETF, which tracks a financial-oriented basket, was the top performer in both the 1-week (+2.49%) and 1-month (+5.98%) windows according to latest trading data. Its secondary-market volume of 526K units also placed it among the most actively traded domestic ETFs.

Year-to-Date Divergence: Selectivity Pays Off

Year-to-date performance remains split. Only two funds in this recap are positive for 2026: SSIAM VNX50 ETF at +3.10% and KIM Growth VN30 ETF at +1.93%. The remaining five sit in negative territory, led lower by DCVFMVN Diamond ETF at -8.67% and VanEck Vietnam ETF at -5.23%.

Diamond's Recovery vs. Its YTD Gap

DCVFMVN Diamond ETF has rebounded strongly over the past month, gaining +4.45%, yet it still carries the deepest year-to-date decline at -8.67%. This gap between one-month momentum and YTD performance is a reminder that short-term recovery and full-year breakeven are very different milestones.

Liquidity Update: Where Trading Activity Was Concentrated

Secondary-market liquidity on the latest close was led by the two largest domestic products: VFMVN30 ETF with 531K units and SSIAM VN FINLEAD with 526K units. DCVFMVN Diamond followed at 225K units, while SSIAM VN30 (38K units) and SSIAM VNX50 (6K units) were quieter. On the US side, VanEck Vietnam ETF saw 670K shares change hands.

Important: Trading Volume Is Not Fund Flow

The figures above describe matched trading on the exchange, not official ETF fund flows. True fund flow reflects creation and redemption activity – measured as the change in shares outstanding multiplied by NAV. Exchange volume alone cannot confirm whether new money entered or left a fund.
