Week's gainers: FUESSVFL, FUEVFVND and E1VFVN30

FUESSVFL posted the strongest one-week change in the group at +2.46%, bringing its one-month return to +4.83%. FUEVFVND followed with +2.03% for the week and +3.17% over one month at a price of 34,200 VND. E1VFVN30, the largest VN30-tracking fund by name recognition in this dataset, rose +1.87% on the week and +5.03% over the month at 35,500 VND per unit. SSIAM VN30 ETF (FUESSV30) added +1.76% for the week at 24,860 VND, and VanEck Vietnam ETF (VNM) — the US-listed vehicle in the table — gained +0.74% for the week and +3.22% over one month, closing at $17.63 per share.

Week's laggards: FUEKIVFS and FUESSV50

The two negative weekly prints came from FUEKIVFS at -4.34% and FUESSV50 at -2.23%. For FUEKIVFS this weekly decline sits alongside a positive one-month return of +0.58% and the highest year-to-date figure in the table at +1.99%, which suggests the weekly move is a short-horizon swing rather than a reversal of its year-to-date trend. FUESSV50, by contrast, is negative on both the week (-2.23%) and the month (-1.93%), yet still marginally positive year-to-date at +0.28%. Note the daily moves for both funds were small relative to their weekly moves — -0.70% for FUESSV50 and +0.99% for FUEKIVFS on the day — indicating the weekly result was built up across several sessions rather than a single session.

One-Month and Year-to-Date: Two Different Pictures

One-month returns cluster on the positive side

Over the trailing month, five of the six domestically listed ETFs in the dataset are positive: E1VFVN30 +5.03%, FUESSVFL +4.83%, FUEVFVND +3.17%, FUESSV30 +1.97% and FUEKIVFS +0.58%. FUESSV50 is the single negative one-month reading at -1.93%. VNM is also positive over one month at +3.22%. This one-month column is therefore the mirror image of the weekly column: the funds that were negative on the week (FUEKIVFS, FUESSV50) still show a positive or near-flat month for FUEKIVFS, while the weekly laggard list is unchanged for FUESSV50.

The year-to-date spread reaches double digits

Year-to-date, the dispersion is the widest of any column in the table. FUEVFVND is down 10.70% year-to-date despite gaining +2.03% last week and +3.17% over the past month — the sharpest year-to-date decline in the group. VNM is down 7.74% year-to-date at $17.63. FUESSVFL is down 4.12%, FUESSV30 down 1.74% and E1VFVN30 down 1.63% year-to-date. Only two vehicles are positive year-to-date: FUEKIVFS at +1.99% and FUESSV50 at +0.28%. In other words, the week's best performer (FUESSVFL) is still negative year-to-date, and the year-to-date leader (FUEKIVFS) was the week's weakest performer — a reminder that weekly rankings and year-to-date rankings in this dataset do not overlap.

What the Volume Data Does — and Does Not — Tell Us About ETF Flows

Trading volume is not fund flow

True ETF fund flow is measured by creation and redemption activity — the change in shares outstanding multiplied by net asset value. The dataset used in this report does not contain creation/redemption figures, shares-outstanding changes, or any official fund flow numbers, and it also does not contain foreign net buying or net selling on the exchange. What it does contain is a volume column. For that reason, this report makes no claim about capital flowing into or out of any of these funds, and no claim about foreign investor positioning. Volume and fund flow are separate concepts and should not be used interchangeably.

What the 18/09/2026 volume figures show

In the dataset dated 18/09/2026, recorded volume is 0K units for E1VFVN30, FUEVFVND, FUESSV30, FUESSV50 and FUEKIVFS, and 1K units for FUESSVFL. VNM shows 615K shares. The session had not yet opened when the data was captured, which is consistent with the near-zero domestic volume readings — the price fields represent the prior session's closing prices, not a completed current-session trade record. Readers should treat the 0K and 1K readings as a data-capture artifact rather than as evidence of zero investor activity, and should not read them as a signal about demand for these products.

How to Read This Report Ahead of the Next Week

Track each fund against its own index exposure

The funds in this table do not track the same benchmark. E1VFVN30, FUESSV30 and FUEKIVFS are VN30-oriented vehicles; FUEVFVND follows the Diamond basket; FUESSVFL covers the financial-leadership segment; FUESSV50 tracks a VNX50 universe; and VNM is a US-listed Vietnam vehicle priced in dollars. That structural difference is the simplest explanation for why weekly returns ranged from +2.46% to -4.34% in the same seven-day window, and why the year-to-date column ranges from +1.99% to -10.70%. Comparing funds without reference to their underlying index will produce misleading conclusions.

Watch the same four columns each week

A weekly ETF review is most useful when the same metrics are tracked consistently. The four columns in this report — one-week, one-month, year-to-date and price — allow you to see whether a single week's move is part of a longer trend or a short-term swing. FUEKIVFS is the clearest current example: -4.34% on the week, +0.58% on the month, +1.99% year-to-date. None of those three numbers alone tells the full story. For broader market context around these funds, see our market section, and for the full list of Vietnam-listed ETFs see the product directory.

FAQ

How did Vietnam ETFs perform in the week ending 18/09/2026?

Based on the Yahoo Finance dataset dated 18/09/2026, FUESSVFL led with +2.46%, followed by FUEVFVND at +2.03%, E1VFVN30 at +1.87% and FUESSV30 at +1.76% for the week. On the negative side, FUEKIVFS fell 4.34% and FUESSV50 fell 2.23%. VNM, the US-listed vehicle in the table, gained 0.74% for the week.

Did ETF fund flows turn positive or negative last week?

That question cannot be answered from this dataset. Official ETF fund flow requires creation/redemption data and changes in shares outstanding, neither of which is included here. The table contains trading volume only — 0K units for most domestic funds, 1K units for FUESSVFL and 615K shares for VNM — and no foreign net buying or net selling figures. Volume should not be described as fund inflow or outflow.

Which fund in the table had the strongest and weakest year-to-date performance?

Year-to-date, FUEKIVFS was the strongest at +1.99%, narrowly ahead of FUESSV50 at +0.28% — the only two positive readings in the table. FUEVFVND was the weakest at -10.70% year-to-date, followed by VNM at -7.74%, FUESSVFL at -4.12%, FUESSV30 at -1.74% and E1VFVN30 at -1.63%.
