Session Recap: Domestic ETFs Close Mostly Higher

Four of the six domestic funds finished the day up by more than 0.4%, with the daily range running from +1.80% to -0.55%. Weekly performance, however, remains mixed to negative across most of the group.

FUESSV30 and FUESSVFL Lead Daily Gains

FUESSV30 closed at 24,860 VND, up 1.80% on the day — the strongest daily move in the group — and also edged higher over the week at +0.24%. SSIAM VN FINLEAD ETF (FUESSVFL) closed at 28,790 VND, up 1.34%, though it remains -0.52% over the past week. DCVFMVN Diamond ETF (FUEVFVND) closed at 33,760 VND, +0.78%, and VFMVN30 ETF (E1VFVN30) closed at 35,000 VND, +0.43%. KIM Growth VN30 ETF (FUEKIVFS) closed at 17,230 VND, +0.76%, but is -1.54% over the week.

FUESSV50 the Sole Domestic Decliner

FUESSV50 closed at 28,990 VND, down 0.55% on the day and -3.01% over the past week — the weakest weekly reading among domestic funds in the table. That weekly drawdown sits alongside a +5.96% one-month gain, the strongest one-month figure in the group.

One-Month and Year-to-Date: Dispersion Widens

Looking beyond the single session, the one-month column ranges from +5.96% (FUESSV50) to -0.40% (FUEKIVFS), while year-to-date returns span +2.01% to -11.85% — a gap of roughly 14 percentage points between the best and worst domestic performers. Only Two Domestic Funds Positive Year-to-Date

On a year-to-date basis, FUESSV50 at +2.01% and FUEKIVFS at +1.00% are the only domestic ETFs in the table still in positive territory. FUESSV30 is -1.74% YTD, E1VFVN30 -3.02%, FUESSVFL -5.17% and FUEVFVND -11.85%. Over the past month, E1VFVN30 is +3.55%, FUESSV30 +1.97% and FUESSVFL +1.55%, while FUEVFVND (-0.35%) and FUEKIVFS (-0.40%) are marginally lower.

The One-Week Picture

Weekly moves are negative for six of the seven funds listed: VNM -4.52%, FUESSV50 -3.01%, FUEKIVFS -1.54%, E1VFVN30 -1.13%, FUEVFVND -0.82% and FUESSVFL -0.52%. FUESSV30 is the only fund in the table with a positive weekly reading, at +0.24%.

Volume: Where Trading Activity Was Concentrated

Exchange-traded volume for the session was concentrated in the two largest domestic funds by units traded: FUEVFVND at 469K units and E1VFVN30 at 430K units, according to the 15/09/2026 data. FUESSVFL followed at 139K units, well ahead of FUESSV30 (18K units) and FUESSV50 (16K units). FUEKIVFS recorded 0K units of volume for the session.

Volume Is Not the Same as Fund Flow

It is worth separating two concepts that are often confused: on-exchange trading volume reflects secondary-market transactions between buyers and sellers, whereas true dòng tiền ETF reflects creation and redemption activity (changes in shares outstanding). The data set referenced here contains trading volume only — it does not include creation/redemption figures — so no conclusion about capital inflows or outflows for these funds can be drawn from these numbers.

VanEck Vietnam ETF (VNM) in the US Session

The US-listed VanEck Vietnam ETF closed at $17.34, down 0.91% on the day, with 975K shares traded. Over the past week VNM is -4.52%, the steepest weekly decline in the table, while its one-month figure is +1.11%. Year-to-date, VNM is -9.26%.

Comparing the US-Listed and Domestic Vehicles

The contrast is instructive: VNM's one-month gain of +1.11% sits below four of the six domestic funds over the same period (FUESSV50 +5.96%, E1VFVN30 +3.55%, FUESSV30 +1.97% and FUESSVFL +1.55%), while its -9.26% year-to-date return beats only FUEVFVND (-11.85%) among the domestic group. Part of the gap is currency-related and part is structural: VNM holds Vietnamese equities but is priced and traded in US dollars, so VND/USD moves feed directly into its quoted performance, whereas the domestic funds are priced in VND.
