So sánh ETF VN30 và VN Diamond: ETF Fund Flows and Tracking Error Risk — October 2026

Vietnam's two most closely followed domestic equity ETFs — the VFMVN30 ETF (E1VFVN30) and the DCVFMVN Diamond ETF (FUEVFVND) — ended the prior session on 14 October 2026 at 33,430 VND and 32,020 VND respectively, according to Yahoo Finance data. The headline divergence is year-to-date: E1VFVN30 is down 6.37% while FUEVFVND is down 16.40%. This so sánh ETF VN30 và VN Diamond compares the two strategies on price performance, trading volume and the structural tracking error risks that separate them — and it draws a firm line between exchange trading volume and genuine ETF fund flows, which are two different things that are frequently confused.

1. So sánh ETF VN30 và VN Diamond: Where the Two Flagship ETFs Stand

The table below reflects the 14 October 2026 closing prices, ahead of the 15 October session open. All figures are taken directly from Yahoo Finance data and should be read as such. Listed Vietnamese ETFs are quoted in VND; the foreign-listed VanEck Vietnam ETF (VNM) is quoted in USD, so it is shown for reference only and is not directly comparable line-by-line with the domestic funds.

Price and performance snapshot (14/10/2026)

E1VFVN30 slipped 0.15% in the session, 0.76% over the week and 2.90% over the month, leaving it down 6.37% year to date. FUEVFVND fell more sharply on the day at -1.14%, was comparatively steadier over the week at -0.37%, then widened the gap on the month at -4.42% and on the year at -16.40%.

That is the single most notable data point in the set: the year-to-date performance difference between the two funds is approximately ten percentage points. Over the one-month window the gap is narrower but still present — 2.90% versus 4.42%.

What the gap between E1VFVN30 and FUEVFVND actually shows

A performance gap between two ETFs is not, by itself, evidence of tracking error. The two funds track different reference indices with different construction rules, so a divergence in returns is expected behaviour rather than a defect. What matters for a tracking error assessment is how each fund performs against its own index — and that data is not contained in the price table above.

What the table does establish is that over the periods shown, the Diamond strategy has been the weaker of the two on a year-to-date basis, while both remain negative. Investors comparing the pair should treat the -6.37% versus -16.40% spread as a composition and strategy effect first, and only then ask whether tracking error is adding to it.

2. Trading Volume Is Not Fund Flow (Vì sao điều này quan trọng khi so sánh ETF VN30 và VN Diamond)

The 665K units traded in FUEVFVND versus 195K in E1VFVN30 tells you which fund is more liquid on the exchange. It tells you nothing about whether money is entering or leaving either fund.

What counts as ETF fund flow

True ETF fund flow is the change in shares outstanding multiplied by net asset value — in other words, the net result of creation and redemption activity between authorised participants and the fund. It is reported by
